End of the Year Girl Scout Party

Yesterday afternoon we hosted Prissy's Scout troop end of the year swim party--what fun!!! The (wonderful) troop leader hired the cutest college boy lifeguard so he watched the girls giving the mothers a chance to actually carry on a conversation!!! After a week spent almost exclusively with a four year old, I needed that! The girls had a blast this year in Scouts and the highlight of the year was going to the Jersey Shore for Beach Jam. In the fall, the troop is going white water rafting and I get to go as a chaperone. I am sooooo excited!!! I have never been ww rafting and have always wanted to!

Another thing I must share with y'all-- ever since I saw this secretary makeover

on Eddie Ross I have been dying to find a secretary to makeover. Well, lookie what I found yesterday

Can you guess what my next project is?!

You are bold. I have never been able to bring myself to paint over mahogany. That secretary of Eddie's is just the thing to put me over the edge. It's so crisp and bright. I'm sure you'll do an amazing job! Can't wait to see what you do! Have a great weekend!

The girls must have had a great time at the pool party. I have always longed for a pool simply for the entertaining options. Not for the maintenance! Yours is beautiful - love the slate surround!

And your secretary...are you kidding me? It's an exact copy of the Eddie's. I can't wait to see the transformation! Good luck

the girls look like they were having so much fun!

my mother found a secretary years ago (like 30) when i was little she painted over it. It was deep in the 70s and she painted it canary yellow and had the drawers and shelves lined in some Pucci-esque patterned shelf liner. I inherited it and painted it hunter green. It's now sitting in the basemet green and chipped. I'll keep it there until I refinish it for Becca's room. I'll paint it white most likely -- she has white wicker furniture, Key Lime walls and pink and green bedding... Her walls still need artwork and so her room is still a work in progress... maybe you should come over and take a look and throw some ideas my way!

The girls all look so cute and as if they are having the time of their life. Also, your secretary find is amazing! I cannot wait to see what you do with it! Perhaps you could use some of your new fabric in the panels depending on where you plan to put it.

Great memories here with GS. I was a leader too! Such a great program and hopefully all reading with little ones will join in the future!

I always love seeing pictures of your older daughter. My, does she ever look like Pinky in that first picture!

Can't wait to see how your secretary turns out. Keep us posted!

Beautiful secretary! Where did you get such a find? I love the giant star shape pool float - looks fun. Your girls are cute as always, but I was hoping to see the cute college lifeguard too :)

I LOVE that secretary desk. Love. it. I am getting ready to paint some old French Provinical furniture white and add rosette drawer pulls for a nursery.

Speaking of which, do you have any suggestions for girl's names? I'm stuck and need to come up with something. I'm hosting a pink-n-green giveway on my blog for anyone who has ideas for me!
